San Benedetto del Tronto: Cocaine hidden in the car and money in the house: 33-year-old arrested

A 33-year-old man was arrested in San Benedetto del Tronto: cocaine, cash, and packaging materials were seized.

Drug checks at a downtown bar

On June 6, personnel from the Anti-Crime Section – Judicial Police Team of the San Benedetto del Tronto Police Station arrested a 33-year-old Albanian man with no criminal record. He was held responsible, on various counts, for possession with intent to distribute approximately 100 grams of pure cocaine. The operation was part of institutional services aimed at preventing and suppressing illicit drug trafficking. In the late morning, in a residential neighborhood in the city center, officers noted a large presence of criminals, including several drug addicts, inside a bar that had already been reported as a center for heroin and cocaine trafficking.

The doses in the pocket and the car key

In light of their observations, the officers decided to conduct a search of the establishment. Upon entering, they noticed the behavior of an Albanian man who, upon seeing the officers, attempted to evade the search. This maneuver aroused the officers' suspicions, and they stopped him and searched him. Seven heat-sealed doses of cocaine, ready for sale, were found in his pants pocket. In addition to the packages, the man was also carrying the key to a Volkswagen not located near the bar.

The Volkswagen found on the seafront

After approximately 45 minutes of searching, the vehicle was located on the seafront, approximately 800 meters from the club. A search of the car, conducted in conjunction with the Flying Squad personnel who had arrived on the scene, led to the discovery and seizure of approximately 7 grams of pure cocaine, hidden in the compartment intended for the radio. Seven additional heat-sealed doses were also found inside the car, identical to those found in the man's possession shortly before.

The search in Martinsicuro and the seizure

Meanwhile, officers began investigations at the 33-year-old's residence, where he reportedly continued to be obstructive, refusing to provide information about his personal status and current address. The investigation led to a residence occupied by the man in the municipality of Martinsicuro. During the search, they found packaging materials, an electronic scale, and €2.700 in cash, which was placed under precautionary seizure. All the drug paraphernalia and the narcotics, totaling nearly 100 grams of cocaine, were seized.

Validation of arrest and obligation to report

The man was arrested and, after the usual formalities, taken to the Ascoli Piceno prison. On June 8, 2026, a validation hearing was held before the investigating judge at the Ascoli Piceno Courthouse. The judge validated the arrest and, at the request of the Deputy Prosecutor in charge of the investigation, applied the precautionary measure requiring him to report to the police station twice a day. Meanwhile, the investigating judge at the Teramo Courthouse, at the request of the Deputy Prosecutor, validated the emergency precautionary seizure of the money found in Martinsicuro, issuing a seizure order for €2.700, held by the arrested man, who could not justify his possession of the money due to his unemployment.
