Catania, Carabinieri checks and operations: arrests, reports, and interventions against drugs and violence.

A series of Carabinieri operations in the province of Catania have recently covered various security areas, from combating drug dealing to preventing domestic violence, traffic enforcement, and emergency response. The operations have led to arrests, charges, and seizures in several municipalities across the area.

Catania: 28-year-old driving without a license

In the Borgo neighborhood of Catania, the Carabinieri Mobile Radio Unit have intensified checks to combat widespread lawlessness and ensure compliance with the Highway Code. During their operations, with particular attention to Via Vittorio Veneto , officers stopped a 28-year-old Catania resident riding a scooter. Investigations revealed that the man had never held a driving license. This would not have been his first offense. The 28-year-old had already been caught in the same situation last February. The repeated conduct led to a report to the Judicial Authorities, while the motorcycle was seized for administrative purposes.

Adrano, five stab wounds and a car escape

The incident reconstructed in Adrano is even more serious , where Carabinieri from the local station identified two people, a 39-year-old man and his 17-year-old son, believed to be involved in the assault on a 21-year-old man that occurred on the night of August 3rd in Piazza Armando Diaz. According to the investigation, the victim met with the father and son to clarify a previous romantic matter involving a relative of theirs. The argument, however, apparently escalated when the two asked the young man to hand over his cell phone so they could monitor his conversations with the woman.

The attack from behind

When the 21-year-old refused, the young man allegedly turned to walk away. At that point, the 17-year-old allegedly stabbed him in the back several times using a sharp instrument. Immediately afterward, the father and son fled in a small car. The victim was taken to the emergency room at Biancavilla Hospital, where she received the necessary treatment and was subsequently discharged with a 15-day prognosis.

The cameras reconstruct the escape

Initial information gathered by the Carabinieri of the Paternò station allowed them to begin an investigation, which was subsequently further developed by the Adrano police. Acquiring video surveillance footage from the area was crucial. Investigators cross-referenced statements taken at the hospital, CCTV footage, and a partial reading of the license plate of the getaway car. Further investigations into the car and the family unit led to the identification of the two alleged perpetrators. The father and son were charged with aggravated assault . The 52-year-old was arrested on charges of domestic violence and, by order of the judicial authorities, placed under house arrest.

Palagonia, drug dealing ring discovered

In Palagonia , the Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit, with the support of the "Sicilia" Helicopter Squadron, arrested two men, aged 24 and 29, suspected of possession with intent to sell narcotics and theft of electricity. The investigation was triggered by a series of reports of suspicious activity in the areas of Via Soldato Pirracchio, Via Novata, and Via Dandolo . The officers observed a constant coming and going of people believed to be potential buyers, and therefore launched the raid.

Drugs, scales, and a room transformed into a game room
