In Mascalucia, in the province of Catania, prompt collaboration between the school and law enforcement resulted in the resolution of an incident at a local high school, where a minor was found in possession of a knife in his backpack. The incident stemmed from a report by several students to school staff after the boy's possession was discovered.
The arrival of the Carabinieri
The school requested the intervention of the Carabinieri from the Mascalucia station, who arrived within minutes. The young man, a 17-year-old resident of Pedara, had meanwhile been summoned to the vice principal's office in the presence of his parents and teachers. The Carabinieri officers then recovered the knife, approximately 19 centimeters long and stored in a plastic sheath, which had been brought into the school building and kept in the student's backpack.
Knife seizure and report
The knife was seized by the Carabinieri. Following the investigation, the minor was reported to the competent judicial authorities for unauthorized possession of a knife. The joint intervention of school staff and military personnel allowed the situation to be addressed quickly and ensured the safety of students and the school environment.
