Cesenatico: Carabinieri assist a disabled wheelchair user stuck on the train station tracks.

The intervention at the Cesenatico railway station

The Carabinieri of Cesenatico have shown great care and solidarity in recent days, responding to a tourist who was trapped inside the train station with his disabled son in a wheelchair. The 56-year-old man was with his wheelchair-bound son and needed to reach the platforms to catch a train home. However, the situation was complicated by a faulty elevator in the station and the lack of accessible alternative routes.

The architectural barrier prevents access to the platforms

The family found themselves faced with an architectural barrier that was impossible to overcome on their own. Without a functioning elevator and alternative access ramps, reaching the platform would have been impossible for the young man in a wheelchair. The call for help reached the Carabinieri Operations Center in Cesenatico , which immediately activated a patrol from the local support service.

The soldiers transport the wheelchair along the alternative route

The officers of the First Support Service Team (SAT) responded to the scene and, after assessing the situation, decided to intervene directly to allow the family to continue their journey. Faced with the mandatory route, consisting of two flights of stairs and an underpass , the Carabinieri lifted the wheelchair with the young man inside, escorting him safely to the platform from which the train would depart.

The family's gratitude for the help received

Thanks to the military's prompt response, the tourist and his son were able to rejoin the convoy and return home. This gesture earned the family's gratitude and demonstrates the daily role of law enforcement, not only in public safety but also in providing concrete support to citizens in difficult situations.
