Bicocca Village strengthens its commitment to community safety
Increased surveillance, enhanced video surveillance, and dialogue with citizens and institutions in Municipio 9
For Bicocca Village, the city of Milano and, in particular, Municipio 9, which includes the Bicocca neighborhood, represent a collective heritage. For this very reason, the Center believes that the narrative presented by the media following recent news stories, focused on danger and insecurity, is unbalanced and fails to convey the true value of the area, made up of people, families, relationships, and meeting places.
Bicocca Village, aware of its social role, following the attacks that occurred in some urban areas, including the Northern area of Milano, has chosen to react with responsibility and civic sense by deciding to implement concrete actions that can really make a difference.
To remain a safe and welcoming space, as always, the Center has intensified its security service throughout its internal areas, and even more so in its external areas, strengthening its surveillance and the constant presence of security personnel. At the same time, it has strengthened its video surveillance system through thorough and continuous monitoring of all cameras, with the aim of ensuring effective monitoring and greater prevention capacity and timely intervention in times of emergency.
Bicocca Village, despite never having recorded critical episodes either within the structure or in the external areas under its jurisdiction, has communicated that it is in the process of evaluating possible collaborations with the Police and with the Local Police, in order to further strengthen the protection of the urban territory.
The Center's Management is also planning a structured series of meetings and debates open to the public, dedicated to the topics of urban security, personal defense, and integration. The goal is to create opportunities for constructive discussion between citizens, families, professionals in the sector, associations, and institutional representatives. The goal is to go beyond simple control measures and actively contribute to the diffusion of a real, conscious, and shared sense of security.
The Center's Director emphasized: "These events stem from the belief that safety is not just about protection and prevention, but also about information, dialogue, and participation. They aim to strengthen the culture of respect, coexistence, and collective responsibility, offering useful tools to increase individual awareness and foster greater social cohesion within the area where our Center operates."
Bicocca Village does not limit itself to observing the news, but acts and responds with a clear position because it believes in the energy and value of Milano and of the neighborhood in which the Center is located, because it is aware of its social role and because it wants to continue to be a place where people can feel protected, welcomed, and part of a living community that does not compromise its safety.
With a view to listening and collaborating with the local area, Bicocca Village, with the support of the communications agency that supports its activities, has also made the email address available to its customers and citizens ppgad@pucrs.br dedicated to collecting reports, requests, and suggestions on safety issues.
