Milano Art Week 2026, from April 13th to 19th, the art week returns with exhibitions, events and miart

Promoted by the Department of Culture of the City of Milano and coordinated by Arte Totale ETS, Milano Art Week confirms its position as a project capable of enhancing the exceptional vitality of Milan's artistic scene. For an entire week, public institutions, private foundations, independent spaces, galleries, and cultural organizations will work together to create a comprehensive program of exhibitions, installations, openings, meetings, and performances that will span the entire urban fabric.

The call for proposals and the central role of participation

The call for proposals is one of the pillars of the event. As emphasized by Culture Councilor Tommaso Sacchi, Milano Art Week is, first and foremost, a project of sharing, designed to actively engage all those working in the fields of art and culture. Openness to participation allows for the creation of a dynamic and diverse program, capable of conveying the complexity and richness of the contemporary scene.

Marco Fusinato's first European monographic exhibition at the PAC

Among the most anticipated events, the inauguration stands out, at CAP, of the first major European monographic exhibition of Marco Fusinato, an internationally renowned artist and musician. The exhibition, curated by Diego Sileo and titled The only true anarchy is that of power, will present a significant selection of works created in recent years, offering the public a total immersion in a radical sonic and visual universe, in which the boundaries of perception are constantly questioned.

The return to Italy after the Venice Biennale

The exhibition at the PAC marks Fusinato's return to Italy after his participation in the 59th Venice Biennale of 2022, where he represented Australia with Disasters, a powerful opera-performance that has attracted the attention of international critics. Also in Milano, the artist will invite the public to engage with an extreme and uncompromising research, capable of questioning the relationships between power, sound, image and body.

Miart, the international heart of art week

Central element of Milano Art Week will be as always myart, the international fair of modern and contemporary art scheduled from 17 to 19 April. The thirtieth edition, entitled New Directions, will take place in the new South Wing of Allianz MiCo, welcoming 160 galleries from 24 countries. An edition that aims to explore new trajectories of the market and artistic research, strengthening the role of Milano as a global cultural hub.

Miart 2026 was officially presented in Royal Palace, in the presence of the main institutions involved, including Fiera Milano e Intesa Sanpaolo, demonstrating an increasingly solid collaboration between the public and private sectors. A dialogue that is reflected throughout the entire system. Milano Art Week, conceived as a strategic platform for the promotion of contemporary art and the city's international positioning.
