It was inaugurated at Milano il 'Wall of Commitments', a symbolic installation designed to leave messages, promises and concrete commitments against the violence against women.
The initiative, promoted by the Lombardy Region as part of the 'I won't keep quiet' campaign , concluded the two-day event organized to mark November 25 , the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The ceremony took place in Via Beltrami , next to the Sforza Castle, in the presence of the President of the Region Attilio Fontana , the regional councillor for Security and Civil Protection Romano La Russa and the President of the Regional Council Federico Romani.

“ Violence is unacceptable and is always a defeat ,” declared President Attilio Fontana.
She then underlined the importance of spreading a culture of respect and equality , particularly among young people, and the institutions' commitment to strengthening support networks to ensure women receive help and protection.
A space dedicated to dialogue and prevention
The regional campaign aims in particular to sensitize men, involving them in a path of shared responsibility.
The initiative included the presence of:

experts and operators of the State Police ,

Local Police of the Municipality of Milano,
-
professionals of the Network of Anti-Violence Centers of Milano.
The “Wall of Commitments” aims to become a collective manifesto of responsibility , capable of transforming a simple gesture into a message of solidarity and awareness.
"With the 'Wall of Commitments'," said Councilor Romano La Russa , "we want to transform a symbolic action into a concrete responsibility , especially for men. Gender-based violence affects the entire community , and the Lombardy Region continues to invest in initiatives that promote dialogue, listening, and prevention."
The councilor also thanked the police and the Network of Anti-Violence Centers for their ongoing support to women victims of violence.
Regional Council President Federico Romani reiterated that violence against women is a social scourge that must be fought with every available institutional means , starting with education and raising awareness among young people.
