Furniture expo.Milano 2026: “Next Gen at Work” Arrives – A Meeting for the New Generations
The meeting dedicated to new skills in design and furnishing
Il Furniture expo.Milano 2026 is enriched with a new event that aims to connect the younger generations with the world of design and furniture. This is “Next Gen at Work”, an event planned for April 24, 2026, starting at 12:00, at the SaloneSatellite Arena (Pavilion 7, Fiera Milano, Rho).
A marathon of thematic talks: from professional skills to sustainability
“Next Gen at Work” presents itself as a marathon of talk divided into three thematic slots, each focusing on a crucial aspect of the design and furniture supply chain. During the event, industry experts and professionals will share their experiences and knowledge, offering a concrete overview of the professional biodiversity which characterizes the sector. Organized by Green Design Days, the project is promoted by Assarredo (FederlegnoArredo), and is designed to respond to a growing demand for professional orientation.
An opportunity to reduce the gap between young people and the labor market
The project aims to bridge the gap between the new generations and the demands of the labour market, outlining the required skills along the entire value chain of the sector, from design to production, from sustainability to the supply chain, up to digital innovation and communications.
An event to inspire young designers
“Next Gen at Work” is part of a context of strong interest in the design sector: in the last two years, the Salone del Mobile has seen an increase in + 32,46 % of the student public, a sign of a structural interest towards a sector that integrates manufacturing, technological innovation, and design culture.
