Naples: Two armed robberies: 46-year-old arrested after Carabinieri investigation
The alleged perpetrator of two robberies in the Soccavo neighborhood has been identified.
The Carabinieri of the Naples Rione Traiano station have executed a precautionary detention order against a 46-year-old Neapolitan man , already known to law enforcement, who is considered a serious suspect in two armed robberies committed in the Soccavo neighborhood . The order was issued by the Naples Ordinary Court – Preliminary Investigations Section , at the request of the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office, following a comprehensive investigative effort conducted by the Carabinieri.
Robberies during the night: victims threatened with a gun
The investigation began after two separate incidents occurred in May and June in the Soccavo neighborhood, shortly after each other. According to the investigation, the alleged robber operated during the night, approaching the victims' cars on a motorcycle. In both incidents, the man allegedly threatened the drivers with a gun, forcing them to hand over money and valuables. On one occasion, the alleged perpetrator also allegedly ripped two silver necklaces from a victim's neck before quickly driving away.
The images from the video surveillance cameras were decisive
To reconstruct the events and identify the perpetrator, the Carabinieri conducted a thorough investigation, primarily based on the acquisition and analysis of a vast amount of footage from public and private video surveillance systems in the area. These investigations initially led to the identification of the motorcycle used in the robberies and subsequently to the identity of the alleged perpetrator.

A blank pistol and matching clothes were found in the house
The man was located at his home, where the Carabinieri conducted further investigations. During the investigation, they seized a blank pistol without its red cap and some clothing deemed consistent with that described by the victims in their reports. Following the formal procedures, the 46-year-old was taken to the Naples Poggioreale prison , where he remains at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
