Ostia: 11 kg of hashish seized, two drug dealers arrested
Deposit and “traveling vault”
State Police dismantled a sophisticated drug dealing ring in the Dragona neighborhood of Ostia, arresting two young Romans, aged 26 and 22. Investigators discovered an apartment used as a drug stash and a car with a retractable double bottom, designed to transport the drugs while evading security checks.
Flying Squad Operation
The operation was triggered by a targeted operation by the Capitoline Flying Squad. Officers observed the two men arriving in a car and entering a building. The driver, after entering an apartment, emerged with a plastic bag hidden under the driver's seat. Investigators immediately blocked the vehicle and recovered a set of keys, which allowed them to search the apartment.
Drug seizure
Inside the home's refrigerator, approximately 10 kg of hashish were found, including blocks and pellets, along with packaging and weighing materials. A search of the car revealed a secret compartment under the driver's side floor mat, activated by a spring-loaded device, containing an additional 10 blocks of hashish, equivalent to one kilogram.
Arrests and validation
The two young men were arrested for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. The Judicial Authority validated the State Police's actions.
