Massive prevention service for crime, urban decay, and security
A widespread coverage of the territory and a series of targeted interventions in the areas most exposed to illegal activity characterized a new extraordinary operation by the State Police on the Roman coast , with particular attention to the Ostia area . The operation, coordinated by the 10th District of Lido di Roma , resulted in a total of 4 arrests, over 400 people identified, 267 vehicles inspected and 26 checkpoints carried out . The operation was carried out by officers from the 10th District, personnel from the Crime Prevention Unit , members of the Guardia di Finanza and AMA operators , who were also involved in the reclamation of urban spaces.
Interventions to combat degradation in the Acque Rosse pine forest
During the operations, the forces deployed in the area also focused on combating degradation. Following a complaint, the operators intervened within the Acque Rosse pine forest , where the partial dismantling of three makeshift camps began. The intervention aimed to restore greater decorum and safety to an area long affected by the presence of illegal settlements and problematic situations.
Recipient of restrictive measure identified
During the checks, officers also located an Italian citizen who had been subject to a precautionary suspension order from the alternative measure of probation to social services . His prison sentence was therefore reinstated. Three checks were also carried out on individuals under house arrest.
Two men arrested after the theft at a minimarket
In the fight against predatory crime, police intercepted the escape of two Roman men, aged 20 and 44 , caught immediately after a robbery at a convenience store. The two were attempting to flee with the stolen goods hidden inside backpacks, but were stopped by officers after a brief pursuit. The stolen goods, valued at approximately €180 , were recovered and returned. During the search, numerous tools used to force the shutters of the business were also seized, including pliers, chisels, pliers, screwdrivers, and even a street sign. Both were arrested for aggravated theft.
Ukrainian citizen's arrest warrant carried out
During the investigation, the case of a Ukrainian citizen also emerged, initially involved in a report of harassing behavior within a commercial establishment. The officers' investigations confirmed that the woman was the subject of a permanent detention order , which was immediately executed.
Home invasion: Man arrested for resisting arrest and assault
The last incident involved a home where officers responded to protect a victim of an assault. After securing the victim, officers encountered the attacker, who, in an attempt to escape, allegedly resisted and injured officers. The man was subsequently arrested for resisting arrest and assaulting a public official.
Checks will continue on the Roman coast
The operation is part of a broader territorial control plan implemented by the Rome Police Headquarters along the capital's coastline. The goal is to strengthen prevention, combat illegal activities, and ensure the reclamation of urban spaces through a constant police presence in the most sensitive areas. All arrests were subsequently validated by the judicial authorities.
