Rome: Six drug dealers arrested by police; drug dealing centers dismantled between Quarticciolo, Ponte di Nona, and Tiburtino III.

Six people were arrested by the State Police in Rome as part of a series of operations targeting drug dealing in the eastern suburbs of the capital. The operations, conducted by the Falcons of the Flying Squad's VI Section , uncovered various organizational models used for drug distribution: from structured drug dealing centers with distinct roles for sellers and custodians of the doses, to itinerant supply runs through scheduled meetings.

Quarticciolo, organized drug dealing with lookouts and two-level deliveries

The first operation took place in the Quarticciolo neighborhood , where investigators reconstructed a complex drug dealing system along the Via Palmiro Togliatti area . According to the investigation, a 29-year-old man of Tunisian origin was responsible for collecting money from buyers and directing it to an accomplice, a 39-year-old Bulgarian woman , who was responsible for physically delivering the doses.

The woman, positioned nearby on a low wall, reportedly retrieved the drugs from a bag hidden at her feet. When the Falcons intervened, the 29-year-old was found with €70 in cash , while 45 packages of cocaine were recovered from the hiding place , hidden among some packets of rice cakes. Both were arrested.

Drugs hidden in an abandoned car on Ponte di Nona

Two more arrests were made in Ponte di Nona , where officers identified two separate drug dealing locations. The first involved a 21-year-old Libyan man , already subject to a precautionary measure prohibiting him from residing in Rome. Investigators discovered that the young man had been using an abandoned car to store the doses, using two different hiding places: one inside the rear door of the vehicle and the other under a brick near the rear wheel, on the edge of a flowerbed. During the search, the young man was found with €165 in cash , while 21 packages of cocaine were seized from the hiding places.

A 22-year-old was also arrested in a parking lot.

Also in Ponte di Nona, the Falcons intervened in a parking lot on Via Aldo Capitini , where they observed a second drug sales point. A 22-year-old Egyptian man was allegedly caught receiving several buyers. After witnessing several sales, officers intervened, stopped him, and found him in possession of 18 packages of cocaine ready for retail sale. He was also arrested.

Tiburtinus III, a traveling supply channel discovered

The latest operation involved the Tiburtino III neighborhood , where investigators identified a suspected drug supply route. Officers noticed the suspicious parking of a small car driver and followed his movements to a meeting with another man, apparently walking his dog.

The two, after entering a building, allegedly made an exchange: one of them took a small bag containing several colored packages from his fanny pack and handed it to his accomplice, who then quickly returned to the car and hid the material in the gear shift. The Falchis' raid allowed them to arrest both men and seize 10 packages of cocaine from inside the vehicle.

Arrests validated by the judicial authorities

At the conclusion of the operations, all arrests were submitted to the judicial authorities for review, which validated the measures. The State Police's activity is part of the anti-drug trafficking efforts in the peripheral areas of the capital, with particular attention to the areas where retail sales are organized through territorial control systems and increasingly diversified methods.
