From the Colle Oppio Park area to Piazza Vittorio, the State Police cordoned off the Esquilino neighborhood in an operation aimed at urban security and combating petty crime. The operation, coordinated by the head of the local police station, targeted the neighborhood's most sensitive areas, checking individuals, gathering areas, and areas exposed to degradation and illegal activity.

Checks and investigations on non-EU citizens

During the investigation, 45 individuals were identified. Five individuals of non-EU origin, without documents, were taken to the Immigration Office of the Police Headquarters to verify their status. Following the investigation, two of them were issued removal orders by the Rome Police Commissioner. At the same time, two other removal orders were executed: the first against a man caught engaging in illegal vending in violation of municipal police regulations, and the second against a person with a prior conviction for property crimes.

Three arrests for drug dealing, theft and resistance

The first arrest involved a 33-year-old Senegalese citizen, already known to law enforcement for drug-related offenses. Stopped on Via Carlo Alberto during a routine check, the man attempted to evade identification, resisting officers. He was found to be carrying 41 packages of cocaine and €440 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing, for which he was arrested again.

The second arrest stemmed from a report to 112 of two people breaking into parked cars on Via Merulana. Officers caught a forty-six-year-old Moroccan man searching a vehicle on Via di San Vito. The man resisted but was apprehended.

He was found to be carrying burglary tools, a flashlight, and a Bluetooth speaker, which was later returned to its owner. He is charged with criminal damage and robbery. Finally, a 34-year-old Malaysian citizen was arrested for resisting a public officer and refusing to provide his personal details, and is considered a serious suspect in the alleged crimes.
