The presentation of “Emphilìa” took place this morning in the council chamber of the City Hall. free socio-educational program promoted by the Univox Ets association which proposes 30 meetings from June to September to help fill the gap educational vacuum and the condition of loneliness that many teenagers and young adults find themselves facing during the summer, through recreational and play workshops, emotional education, educational tutoring and awareness-raising and volunteering orientation activities.

The new features of the third edition were presented by the president of Univox Ets Serena De Sandi, the'Councillor for Justice and Social Welfare and Civil Rights Elizabeth Vaccarella, the president of the Municipio I Annamaria Ferretti, theto president of the Municipio II Alessandra Lopez, Giuseppe Del Grosso in representation of the office of the Regional Guarantor of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities of Puglia, Angelica Bilotti Communication San Nicola Volunteer Service Center.

“Today we are not just presenting a summer program, Today we affirm a vision: that of a city that recognizes the centrality of the new generations, that takes care of their mental health, their relationships, their freedom to live the summer with lightness, dignity and a sense of community – he declared Councilor Vaccarella -. In a time when young people are too often portrayed as problematic and passive, this project reverses the perspective: it puts them at the center, involves them, listens to them, offers them spaces, tools and possibilities. Above all, it takes them seriously. This cycle of over 30 events is part of what, for us, is a political priority: the mental health of young people, which must be protected with the same seriousness with which one protects the body. And so the invitation I extend to everyone today is to participate in large numbers. Participate in the meetings, activities, and moments of discussion. But above all, don't miss out. Sunday 22nd June, at Parco 2 Giugno, where Univox has organised a party open to all, with picnics, recreational activities, networking, art and sharing".

"Emphìlia was born three years ago with the idea of creating places for 'peer' socialisation for children, adolescents and young adults, to combat the social isolation that worsens with the end of school - has explained President De Sandi -. Social pressure is also increasing in the university context and often leads young people to refuse places of aggregation. This is why our association, made up mostly of under 35s, started from this very need. Every year we ask ourselves new goals: for the third edition, for example, we added the free educational tutoring for secondary school students, also making available expert pedagogists special educational needs and learning disabilities. As always, our black, namely i socio-educational workshops organized with psychologists, nutritional biologists, psychiatrists, doctors, activists, and all those who want to lend themselves to creating useful meetings not only for young people, but also for adults who are involved in an intergenerational relationship. Finally, I would like to invite boys and girls to discover ActiveYoung, the pilot project we imagined to promote youth volunteering, because we can always do something, each in our own small way and together in our own big way”.

"The best way to be close to our kids is to join forces – commented the President Ferretti – . The synergy between the municipal administration and the two Municipalities serves to demonstrate the fact that we are here and that we want perceive their fragilities. Starting from the understanding our youth, we can find all the possible solutions to include and integrate them into a mechanism that must see them as protagonists. In a social context in which feelings and emotions take a back seat to growing aggression, even on the international scene, there is a need to meet again, together, to start again from simple things, because that is where the biggest problems are solved”.

"The project is commendable and of high qualitative profile from a socio-educational point of view. – underlined the President Lopez -. The kids have the opportunity to follow training courses and reflect on themes such as self-education and care for others, the breaking down of stereotypes and the relaunch of equal opportunities. This is a wonderful initiative, spread throughout the city, which addresses young people as new forces for the future of our society. Within the project we want to stimulate the sense of duty that must characterize the new generations and anyone who wants to build the future not with slogans but with concrete commitment. Through education in the value of volunteering, contact and care for others, we can produce the quality and well-being of a better society starting from the young generations, protagonists of change”.
