Bper named Italy's Best Bank at the 2026 Euromoney Awards

Bper Banca was honored yesterday evening in London at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026 ceremony, receiving the title of "Italy's Best Bank." Established in 1992 by the international financial magazine Euromoney, the Awards for Excellence "represent one of the main global benchmarks in the sector: each year," a statement explains, "they recognize institutions that stand out for their financial performance, capacity for innovation, quality of service, capital strength, and contribution to the development of their respective markets. Evaluation criteria also include growth, profitability, the ability to anticipate competitive developments, and the ability to respond to customer needs."

"Receiving the Italy's Best Bank award is a source of great pride for us," said Gianni Franco Papa, CEO of Bper. "This recognition recognizes the daily work of our people, the trust of our customers, and the validity of a strategy that combines growth, innovation, and proximity to local communities. We will continue to invest in the development of our bank with the aim of offering increasingly effective solutions and supporting the growth of families, businesses, and communities."

According to the Euromoney panel, Bper, as the bank itself reports, "stands out for its strong track record in M&A and organic growth, and its proven ability to integrate acquisitions effectively and efficiently, with a constructive approach. Also significant are the significant investments in technology and innovation earmarked in the medium-term plan, supporting both growth in size and competitiveness, and the strong commercial momentum, including double-digit growth in new loans to households and businesses."
