China, magnitude 5.6 earthquake hits Qinghai province
A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck Haixi Prefecture in Qinghai Province, northwestern China. The quake struck at 5:36 a.m. (Beijing time, 23:36 p.m. GMT), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC). The quake had a depth of 10 km, the center reported.
