Circus Maximus invaded by trucks for the Cremonini concert: the archaeological area transformed into a gigantic parking lot.

Just days after Cesare Cremonini's concert at the Circus Maximus, protests erupted among residents of the Aventine Hill. Neighborhood committees complained that the historic area had been transformed into a massive parking lot for trucks, intended for the performances scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

The photographs, released by residents, show trucks parked even in areas outside the area officially designated as a construction site and concert venue, with the Circus Maximus literally invaded by heavy vehicles.

"After being turned into an open-air swimming pool due to the rains, the Circus Maximus is now also being transformed into a gigantic parking lot for heavy vehicles used for concerts," Fabrizio Santori, leader of the League group in the Capitoline Hill, told Adnkronos. "A sequence of images that tells the story better than any slogan how one of the capital's most important and sensitive sites is managed. No one questions the value of the events and the economic benefits they generate. But one question is inevitable: how much longer can the Circus Maximus support? How many heavy vehicles, how many installations, how many constant set-ups and dismantlings can weigh down an archaeological site that is unique in the world?"
