England vs. Norway, the airline battle takes off: the bet emerges
England and Norway face off today in the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup. While awaiting the on-field duel, the online battle between the airlines is taking off. The dispute is sparked by Norwegian, who has publicly challenged British Airlines: "Hey, British, want to make a bet? If Norway wins, you have to replace your logo and put ours on Instagram for a day on Sunday." If England wins, of course, the opposite will happen. "Deal?" asks the Norwegian airline. "Don't make bets you can't win," is British's peremptory reply.
Other airlines join in the back-and-forth. Swiss observes with interest and comments: "There's no time for popcorn, we have to get ready for Leo Messi," ahead of the match against Argentina scheduled for Saturday night. Ita Airways also comments wistfully: "Twenty years ago, we were carrying the World Cup. Today? We're just enjoying the entertainment from the commentary section. How time flies..." writes the Italian national airline, 'forced' to sit in the stands after the national team's third consecutive exclusion from the World Cup finals.
