'Fascists 2.0': A clash in the Chamber of Deputies between the Five Star Movement and National Future.

"Fascists 2.0." A clash has erupted in the Chamber of Deputies between the Five Star Movement and the National Future party during the consideration of motions related to the bill containing measures to consolidate and develop the agricultural sector, specifically the document presented by Five Star Movement MP Susanna Cherchi in support of companies operating in the industrial hemp sector. 

"That Duce over there, dear Benito from the bust in President La Russa's office, in 1935," attacks Five Star Movement MP Antonino Iaria, "had implemented hemp cultivation to increase our country's self-sufficiency, because he had sanctions, to obtain raw materials; that's history. So I say, if he saw you, if the Duce saw you now blocking hemp, what would he say? Guys, it's not because someone smokes weed that you block an industrial chain that can reclaim hectares of land. This is the topic today, dear fascists 2.0." A phrase repeated several times that led the Vice President of the Chamber and current President of the Assembly, Sergio Costa, also a Five Star Movement member, to call out his colleague, asking if he was referring to anyone in particular. 

"I'm referring to the general and in general," Iaria replies. "I'm a general too," Costa retorts. "When a colleague from the Brothers of Italy party uses the term 'Giuseppi' 80 times, mocking him," Iaria continues, referring to the attacks directed at Giuseppe Conte, "she's not interrupted. I'm making a political statement, because for me, fascism exists and must be fought, and you stop me because I said 'fascism'? If they got angry, perhaps because they felt touched?" "The important thing," Costa insists, "is that she's not referring to anyone in the Chamber."

A few minutes pass, and Rossano Sasso of Futuro Nazionale takes the floor: "We can be accused of being an identitarian, sovereignist, true right-wing group, the only one here," says the parliamentarian from Roberto Vannacci's party. "But, Mr. President, no one is allowed to say what my colleague Iaria said. Either you speak up every time Iaria creates a spectacle and shows signs of degradation in this Chamber, or else this is not good, Mr. President. That said, it's clear that this issue is dear to the Five Star Movement, but, Mr. President, through you, I say: can the level of debate in this Chamber always be a sign of degradation every time a representative of the Five Star Movement speaks? It's time to put an end to this." 

Gianangelo Bof, again from Futuro Nazionale, opts for sarcasm: "The Honorable Iaria, in supporting your amendment on the hemp supply chain, refers to the Fascist period, because he recognizes that during that period, the Five Star Movement's demands were championed by Mussolini himself during the twenty-year period. Congratulations, Honorable Iaria. We're delighted that you've finally discovered history, and we're pleased that the left truly recognizes our country's history."
