Roland Garros, Zverev argues with the umpire: "The ball is out."
Alexander Zverev argues with the umpire at Roland Garros 2026. Today, Tuesday, June 2, the German tennis player faced Spaniard Rafa Jodar in the quarterfinals of the Paris Grand Slam, in a match marked by some tense moments. The match, once again, involved a chair umpire's call, which Zverev deemed questionable, and he then began arguing with the umpire.
It all happens in the second set. During the third game, a forehand from Jodar hits a piece of the line and is called to the court by the umpire. At this point, however, Zverev protests, and he goes to look at the mark and signals the lines judge to come closer. "It's out," the German says, pointing to the supposed point of impact of the ball, which the umpire disputes, however, pointing out with a hand that it is indeed on the line.
The explanation, however, does not seem to convince Zverev, who returns to the baseline shaking his head, openly protesting the decision.
