Taekwondo, Nepi: "The Grand Prix is a prestigious event, and the world unites at the Foro Italico."
"The Foro Italico is increasingly confirming its position as an extraordinary citadel of international sport, capable of simultaneously hosting top-level events such as the World Taekwondo Rome Grand Prix, the BNL Italy Major Premier Padel, and the Golden Gala." This was stated by Diego Nepi, CEO of Sport e Salute, at the press conference presenting the World Taekwondo Grand Prix, which begins tomorrow at the Foro Italico.
"This demonstrates a winning vision," Nepi emphasizes, "based on multipurpose facilities that can be adapted to different disciplines, allowing us to expand the sports offering and generate significant benefits for tourism and the local economy. In this context, the Rome Grand Prix represents an extremely prestigious event, with hundreds of athletes from all over the world. Alongside these great champions, however, I want to emphasize the value of the Kim and Liù Tournament, the most important European youth event in this discipline, which will bring over 1.800 girls and boys to the Foro Italico. This is where the future is built," emphasizes the CEO of Sport e Salute.
"A special thanks goes to FITA for the work it does not only in promoting competitive activity, but also on a social and humanitarian level. The initiatives developed together with the Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation, the Italian Government, and the Minister for Sport and Youth demonstrate, once again, how sport can be a true bridge between peoples and cultures, offering concrete opportunities to those experiencing hardship. The stories of the refugee athletes welcomed in Italy," Nepi concludes, "and the participation of the young girls from the Azraq camp represent a message of hope, inclusion, and peace that gives taekwondo a value that goes far beyond athletic competition."
