Ukraine, Zelensky: "Russian drone safaris against civilians, the world must see."

Volodymyr Zelensky points the finger at Russian drone "safaris" against civilians in Kherson: "Today, many were shocked by yet another video of Russian drone 'safaris' against civilians in Kherson," the Ukrainian president wrote on X, where he posted a video of "a Russian drone" that "deliberately targeted" a fruit vendor "and blew itself up right next to him." "The Russians," he wrote, "even admitted to the crime, showing no remorse and openly boasting about tormenting people. The man was injured in the explosion. Every single day, the citizens of Kherson are faced with these Russian safaris," he denounced.

The video shows a man seeking cover behind a vehicle, being chased by a drone that detonates its charge near him. The man, who was selling vegetables at a street market in the southern city, "sustained injuries but survived," Yaroslav Shanko, head of Kherson's military administration, said on Telegram, cited by AFP. "I had just set up the umbrellas and started carrying out the crates... My wife was there too. We heard a buzzing sound," the victim, a 52-year-old man identified as Yuriy, said in a video published by local authorities. He suffered blast injuries, shrapnel wounds, and a concussion, but his injuries are not in danger, Kherson Governor Oleksandr Prokudin wrote on Telegram, according to AFP.

“The world must see this. It must see every single piece of evidence that Russia has gone mad and that its soldiers take pleasure in killing and mistreating civilians,” Zelensky writes in X. “Without pressure on Russia, the dismantling of its capacity for aggression, and real security guarantees, it is simply impossible to imagine the world coexisting with this evil. We must remain resolute in the defense of life. We must act and support life in a way that forces Russia to think seriously about peace, rather than expanding the range of its drones.”
