Zverev and Sinner's message after Roland Garros: "He wrote to me."
Jannik Sinner writes to Alexander Zverev. Today, Friday, June 12, the German tennis player revealed that the Italian sent him a message after his triumph at Roland Garros, where he defeated Flavio Cobolli in the final: "All the best tennis players congratulated me: Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic," Zverev said.
"Rafa Nadal wrote me an exceptionally long message; I found it incredibly kind. Athletes from other sports also contacted me, like Thomas Müller, Mats Hummels, and Joshua Kimmich," the German revealed in an interview with Eurosport Germany. "Dirk Nowitzki followed the match and even sent me messages during the match. All of this really meant a lot to me."
“I still have one goal I haven't achieved: to become world number one,” Zverev continued, thus challenging Sinner, currently number one in the ATP rankings. “It would be fantastic to achieve that, even if only for a week. There are still so many major titles I haven't won. I've won a Grand Slam, but there's still a lot to achieve. I want to continue chasing my dreams and working towards them.”
