Rapallo, historic center: 42-year-old arrested for attacking police officers with a telescopic baton

State Police intervention in the heart of the city

Genoa State Police arrested a 42-year-old Italian man for resisting arrest, threatening, insulting, and assaulting a public official , as well as criminal damage and possession of offensive objects . The operation began yesterday evening following calls to the 112 Emergency Number reporting the presence of a visibly impaired individual armed with an iron baton in the historic center of Rapallo.

He was brandishing a telescopic truncheon: the search

Officers from the Rapallo Police Station located the individual on Viale Mazzini , a pedestrian street frequented by tourists, and conducted a personal search. In his pants pocket, the 42-year-old was hiding a telescopic iron truncheon , which was immediately confiscated. While being transported to the police car, the man kicked the door and continued his aggressive behavior inside the police station, threatening officers with death.

Assault and injuries to healthcare workers and healthcare workers

After being transported to the hospital for medical checks, the individual continued to abuse the operators and healthcare personnel , even kicking and biting an officer, causing injuries that were deemed to heal within five days . After medical procedures, the man was taken to the holding cells of the Genoa Police Headquarters , pending a summary trial.
