Lecco: €670 for new books in the system's 53 libraries.

The Ministry of Culture has allocated €670.000 to purchase new books for 53 libraries in the Lecco Library System . This represents a significant opportunity to strengthen collections and offer citizens increasingly rich, up-to-date, and diverse access to reading. The funds, drawn from the Ministry of Culture's book publishing fund , will enable the system's libraries to concretely expand their book holdings, more effectively responding to the cultural needs of the communities.

A key element is the single catalog shared by all participating libraries, which will enable coordinated collection development policies, avoiding unnecessary duplication and streamlining acquisitions. Thanks to this integrated management, the collections can be used even more efficiently, expanding the variety of available titles, with sections dedicated to all age groups and areas of interest. Users will thus benefit from a richer and more accessible library collection, relying on the entire catalog and the interlibrary loan service , which facilitates the circulation of books throughout the region.

Simona Piazza , President of the Lecco Library System , emphasized: "At the heart of our region are cultural policies, and in particular those dedicated to promoting reading for all users of the Library System, from children to adults. Thanks to the Ministry of Culture's Fund for Book Publishing, a special €670.000 grant will be provided to 53 libraries in the Lecco Library System. This support, which was previously launched with the Franceschini decree, is further expanded this year and is taking shape, allowing our libraries to expand their offerings and improve services for readers, young and old. This policy aims not only to increase our book collection, but above all to increasingly engage a new and diverse audience with the world of reading."
