Carabinieri intervene in an assault on Via Garibaldi.

There were moments of fear last night in Messina , where Carabinieri officers from the city's Mobile Radio Unit arrested a 63-year-old man red-handed, suspected of attempted murder and assault . The officers intervened after a report was received via the 112 emergency number regarding a violent fight taking place along Via Garibaldi , near Piazzetta Gringo.

The argument between siblings degenerates into aggression

When the Carabinieri arrived on the scene, they pieced together what had happened shortly before. An argument related to old family disputes broke out between the two, which quickly escalated into an assault. During the altercation, the 63-year-old man allegedly stabbed his brother with a knife. The intervention of a friend present at the scene apparently allowed them to interrupt the attack and temporarily defuse the situation before the attacker was able to escape.
