Meda, Carabinieri checks: fines, reports, and seizures

Within the municipality of Meda, Carabinieri officers from the Meda and Verano Brianza stations, supported by the Seregno Mobile Radio Unit, conducted a comprehensive, wide-ranging patrol. This activity, aimed at preventing crime, improving road safety, combating drug dealing and consumption, and preventing alcohol abuse, allowed them to monitor various areas and public establishments.

Administrative sanctions against commercial establishments

During the inspections, the police inspected a public establishment in Meda and found violations related to the failure to display prices for takeout products and the failure to list allergens on non-prepackaged products. For these violations, the owner was fined €1.700.

Reports for drug use

As part of the same investigation, two residents of Meda were reported to the Prefecture for drug users: a 17-year-old girl found in possession of a dose of hashish, and a 42-year-old man, already known to law enforcement, found in possession of a dose of cocaine. Both substances were intended for personal use.

Fines for drunkenness

Also during the operation, the 42-year-old man and a 48-year-old resident of Meda, with a criminal record, were fined for apparent drunkenness, having been caught in a state of obvious intoxication due to alcohol abuse. The narcotics found were seized, pending the competent authorities' determination.

Road checks and public safety

During the entire operation, 60 vehicles were checked and approximately 100 people were identified. Regarding road safety, four traffic violations were issued, resulting in the revocation of an expired license.

The competent administrative authorities were promptly informed by the Meda Carabinieri Station, which carried out all the necessary formalities and investigations. This activity confirms the Carabinieri's ongoing commitment to protecting the safety of citizens, preventing petty crime, and monitoring commercial and health regulations.
