Oristano: Fundraising to support women and children in the fight against breast cancer
Fundraising in Oristano to support women with breast cancer and their children
The Le Belle Donne aps association of Oristano is promoting an important solidarity initiative for Mother's Day, on May 9th and 10th. The association will organize a fundraiser in Piazza Roma, inside the Torre di Mariano, where plants and flowers will be available for purchase. All proceeds from the event will go to a project that supports women and their children in the difficult fight against breast cancer.
A fundraiser with a dual purpose
The initiative aims to raise funds for two scholarships of €4.000 each, for the children of women with breast cancer. These middle and high school students will be able to enjoy an educational experience abroad, which will have a significant impact on their cultural and linguistic development. This opportunity will help these young people grow, gain self-confidence, and acquire new skills, helping them strengthen their independence and open up new future prospects.
An art that supports a cause
In addition to the sale of plants and flowers, an art exhibition will also be held inside the Mariano Tower, featuring works donated by local artists. The event is not only a fundraiser, but also an opportunity to appreciate the artistic talent that supports such an important cause.
The project awaiting evaluation
The scholarship project is currently awaiting evaluation as part of the 2026 edition of the "Charity Goal" competition, organized by Solowomenrun of Cagliari. This competition already saw the acceptance of a proposal from the Le Belle Donne aps association in 2025, with funding for a special excursion for women affected by breast cancer. The excursion, which will take place in June in a Sardinian municipality, will offer participants the opportunity to enjoy a recovery and recreational experience, accompanied by an expert guide.
An association born out of solidarity
Le Belle Donne aps is an association founded in 2012, initially as a group of friends united by their shared experience with breast cancer. The aim of these women was, and still is, to support each other and help other women facing the same difficult battle. In November 2019, the association was officially established as a social promotion association, operating with its bylaws and articles of association compliant with the laws governing the third sector.
How to participate and contribute
The fundraiser and art exhibition will be an opportunity to support this important cause, helping not only women coping with the disease, but also their children grow up with greater self-confidence. Participating in the Oristano event is an opportunity to make a concrete contribution to the realization of these support projects.
