Italian rhythmic gymnastics is celebrating an extraordinary achievement. Alice Pasini , an athlete from the Rhythmic's Team of Arese , won the DSIGO world champion title during the World Championships for Athletes with Down Syndrome, held in Sofia, Bulgaria , from June 13 to 19.
A success that definitively confirms the sporting career of the young Lombard gymnast, who has already been a leading figure at the international level in recent years. A hard-fought race against 18 athletes from all over the world
The DSIGO world competition saw the participation of 18 athletes , all characterised by a technical level that was constantly growing compared to previous editions.
Called up to the Italian national team, Alice Pasini performed five highly technical routines , three of which were completely new. The competition didn't get off to a good start: a loss of the apparatus off the floor during one of the routines complicated the Italian gymnast's performance.
Despite the initial setback, Alice demonstrated extraordinary competitive maturity, maintaining clarity and focus throughout the competition. Exercise after exercise, she showcased her technical talent and remarkable emotional management skills, crucial qualities for competing at a world-class level.
Determination and emotional control are crucial for victory
The ability to adapt to challenges was one of the most significant aspects of Alice Pasini's performance. After an uphill start, the athlete from Arese managed to execute all her exercises with precision and determination, confirming the level she's achieved in recent years.
