Brindisi: A young man was arrested for drug dealing during patrols in Villa Castelli and Ceglie Messapica.
Man arrested for drug possession
As part of an extraordinary territorial control operation ordered by the Brindisi Police Chief, crime prevention and enforcement operations intensified last weekend in the municipalities of Villa Castelli and Ceglie Messapica. The operations, coordinated by the State Police, Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, and other agencies, resulted in numerous checks.
Operations and findings
During the checks, which involved the deployment of numerous law enforcement officers, 188 individuals were identified and checked, 58 of whom tested positive in the SDI (Interforce Data System). 113 vehicles were stopped and 9 public establishments were inspected, resulting in 3 administrative fines. Additionally, two traffic violations were detected.
Arrest and seizure of narcotics
During a search, a young minor was arrested for possession of narcotics. He was found in possession of cocaine and hashish, presumably intended for distribution. The arrest and seizure of the narcotics were made possible thanks to prompt investigation.
Continuation of operations
The Brindisi Police Chief confirmed that these extraordinary control services will continue in the coming weeks, with the aim of ensuring safety and preventing crime in the province's most vulnerable areas.
