Inter-force controls
In the late afternoon of May 29, respecting the rights of the suspects, the presumption of innocence, and pending the necessary trial, the State Police of the Mesagne Public Safety Commissioner arrested a 41-year-old man from Villa Castelli. The operation took place during extraordinary territorial control operations, with a joint force deployed in Francavilla Fontana. The man is currently being investigated for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, receiving stolen goods, and illegal possession of weapons.
Doses discovered during the investigation
The operation is part of the checks organized by the Brindisi Police Chief, which have been underway for several months both in the capital and in the province's residential areas. During their operation in Francavilla Fontana, officers from the Mesagne Police Station stopped the man who, despite appearing calm, prompted the officers to investigate further. The check yielded an initial finding: the 41-year-old was found in possession of three doses of narcotics.
The search at Villa Castelli
The possibility of using the Brindisi Border Police's Drug Control Dog Unit prompted officers to extend their search to the suspect's home, located in the municipality of Villa Castelli. The operation resulted in the recovery of a significant quantity of narcotics and weapons: 1.078 grams of cocaine, 2.880 grams of hashish, 2.178 grams of marijuana, as well as three precision scales and packaging materials.
Guns, ammunition and money seized
During the search, two pistols with erased serial numbers were also found, both 9x21 caliber, complete with four magazines and 107 rounds of the same caliber. Officers also found €5.590 in banknotes of various denominations, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing. The items found were seized and made available to the judicial authorities. Based on the evidence collected, the 41-year-old was arrested and, by order of the Public Prosecutor on duty at the Brindisi Public Prosecutor's Office, taken to the Brindisi Prison after completing the usual formalities.
The balance of the device
