Ostuni: 36-year-old arrested by State Police for drug dealing, weapons, and receiving stolen goods.

Operation by the Public Safety Commissioner

State Police from the Ostuni Police Station conducted a high-impact operation to combat drug trafficking, resulting in the arrest of a thirty-six-year-old Ostuni man, already known to law enforcement. The man was found guilty of possession with intent to distribute drugs, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and receiving stolen goods.

Monitoring and control of the territory

The investigation stemmed from a targeted territorial surveillance operation aimed at preventing and suppressing drug-related crimes and predatory crimes. The officers monitored the suspect's movements, noting that he was using a shared basement to store and manage drugs.

Seizure of drugs, weapons and money

During the search of the premises, officers found and seized approximately 314 grams of cocaine and over 1,8 kilograms of hashish, some of which had already been packaged and ready for sale. The premises also contained three pistols, two with erased serial numbers and one without identification markings, numerous cartridges of various calibers, packaging and weighing materials, two cell phones, and a sum of money believed to be the proceeds of the illegal activity.
