Trento, CreaSport call for proposals: €140 for sport, inclusion, and youth well-being.

Sports clubs, third sector organizations, and nonprofit organizations can submit free projects for children aged 11 to 16 in Trento schools by August 10th.

Trento has closed its doors to participate in the CreaSport call for proposals , an initiative through which the Municipality aims to strengthen the role of sport as a tool for inclusion, well-being, socialization, and personal growth among younger generations. Amateur sports clubs, third-sector organizations, and non-profit organizations committed to social sports have until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026 , to submit their project proposals.

Free activities for girls and boys aged 11 to 16

The initiative focuses on girls and boys between the ages of 11 and 16 , who will be offered free and accessible activities, with particular attention to the participation of young people in particularly vulnerable situations. The project therefore aims to go beyond simple sports practice, creating opportunities where movement, relationships, and sharing can become concrete tools for inclusion.

Schools become open spaces even beyond lessons

One of CreaSport's key features is the use of city school spaces outside of school hours . The goal is to gradually transform schools into spaces open to the community even after school ends, offering students, families, and the local community new opportunities for meeting and participating. Gyms, courtyards, and other available spaces will thus be able to take on a function beyond strictly educational purposes.

Sport to combat isolation and youth distress

The Municipality of Trento also considers physical activity a tool to combat issues such as isolation, relationship difficulties, and forms of youth distress . The opportunity to participate free of charge in organized and shared activities can foster new relationships, strengthen a sense of belonging, and offer young people opportunities for interaction within educational and protected contexts.

Wellbeing and healthy lifestyles at the heart of the project

CreaSport also aims to promote sport as a fundamental component of a healthy lifestyle , highlighting its effects on the physical and mental well-being of adolescents. However, physical activity is viewed from a broader perspective: not just physical exercise or competition, but an educational opportunity through which to develop awareness, personal autonomy, the ability to cooperate, and respect for others.

Respect, integration and citizenship through sport

In the context of the call for proposals, sports practice also becomes a true platform for educating values . Respect for rules, inclusion of diversity, health, collaboration, well-being, and active citizenship are some of the elements the initiatives will focus on. The goal is to use the sporting experience to support young people in building personal and social skills that will have an impact beyond the field or gym.

The projects will run from September 2026 to November 2027

The selected initiatives must be implemented between September 2026 and November 2027 , primarily within the participating schools or in nearby public spaces. This project is therefore expected to develop over a year, with the goal of ensuring continuity of activities and developing pathways capable of consistently engaging students, schools, associations, and the local community.

Sport together with theatre, music and expressive arts

Among the most valued elements will be the ability to integrate sport with other creative forms , such as theater, music, and the expressive arts. CreaSport aims to support multidisciplinary programs in which physical activity can meet different languages, offering adolescents greater opportunities for expression and participation. The model sought is therefore not simply an afternoon sporting activity, but rather programs capable of engaging the whole person.

Make room for projects that foster teamwork and positive relationships

Particular importance will also be given to initiatives that foster teamwork and the building of positive relationships among participants . Cooperation, discussion, and sharing must become an integral part of the program, allowing young people to experience ways of relating based on mutual respect and the ability to achieve common goals together.

CreaSport and the goals of Agenda 2030

The projects will also help participants understand the values associated with inclusive sports, connecting them to the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development . Sport, health, inclusion, reducing inequalities, and community participation are thus incorporated into a broader educational vision aimed at developing more informed and engaged citizens.

Young people are also protagonists in planning activities

Another key element will be the direct involvement of young people in designing the programs . Students will not necessarily be merely recipients of the initiatives, but will be able to contribute to defining the activities, bringing out their needs, interests, and proposals. This participatory approach aims to strengthen youth leadership and make the projects more relevant to the real needs of adolescents.

Schools as true “community hubs”

The call also places particular emphasis on promoting schools as "community hubs ," places capable of maintaining a social and community function beyond traditional school hours. Opening these spaces to the local community can strengthen relationships between institutions, associations, families, and local communities, creating networks that can more effectively support young people's development.

The first section for lower secondary schools

CreaSport is divided into two distinct sections . The first concerns middle schools and aims in particular to ensure widespread dissemination of the initiatives in the city's eight comprehensive institutes . The planning must adopt methodologies appropriate for the 11-14 age group, and each project must involve at least 15 students.

An educational proposal suitable for teenagers aged 11 to 14

For middle school students, it will therefore be necessary to offer activities tailored to the specific needs of early adolescence. Not just physical exercise, but experiences that foster participation, motivation, peer relationships, and the ability to express themselves. The expansion of activities in comprehensive schools also aims to ensure opportunities are distributed as widely as possible throughout the city.

The second section for higher education and professional training

The second section is dedicated to secondary schools and vocational training centers , limited to the first and second years. In this case, the methodologies must be calibrated for the 14-16 age group , thus taking into account the different educational and relational needs of older adolescents.

Collaboration between institutions and student involvement

For projects aimed at high schools and vocational training centers, collaboration between multiple institutions will be particularly emphasized . Another key element will be student involvement in developing the curriculum: young people will be able to contribute more effectively to the development of activities, ensuring that initiatives are the result of a participatory process and not simply a proposal developed by adults.

How will the submitted projects be evaluated?

Proposals will be selected based on several factors, starting with the overall quality of the planning and the innovative nature of the initiatives . The ability to create networks between schools and the local community and the expected impact on the participants' psychological and physical well-being will also be considered. The evaluation will therefore take into account educational quality, organizational sustainability, and the ability to produce tangible benefits for the young people involved.

The Municipality of Trento has invested a total of 140 euros.

To support CreaSport, the Municipality of Trento is providing a total of €140 . The funding is divided into the two sections outlined in the call for proposals and aims to ensure sufficient resources to implement structured and widespread interventions across the city's various schools.

96 thousand euros are allocated to middle schools

The largest portion of the resources, amounting to €96 , is earmarked for projects aimed at lower secondary schools. This choice reflects the desire to foster a widespread presence of activities across Trento's eight comprehensive schools, addressing a particularly sensitive stage of development: the period between childhood and adolescence.

Another 44 thousand euros for higher education and professional training

The remaining €44 will be allocated to initiatives aimed at secondary schools and vocational training centers. Here too, the goal will be to fund projects that combine physical activity, creativity, inclusion, and participation, while fostering collaboration between the various educational institutions in the area.

Up to 12 thousand euros for each selected project

For each accepted proposal, the maximum contribution is €12 . The resources will allow the selected entities to support the organization of activities and the development of programs that must maintain a strong focus on free participation and accessibility, so that even vulnerable economic or social conditions do not represent an obstacle to participation.

Not just funds: support from the Municipality is also expected

The municipal administration's support will not be limited to financial support. The selected candidates will also benefit from the organizational support of the Municipality of Trento and the promotion of the initiatives through institutional communication channels. This can help raise the visibility of the proposed opportunities and encourage the involvement of students and families.

Questions due by 12pm on Monday, August 10th

Interested associations and organizations have limited time to submit their applications. Applications must be submitted by 12:00 PM on Monday, August 10, 2026. According to the instructions published by the Municipality, the documentation must be sent to servizio.culturagiovanis p [email protected] , while forms and information about the call are available through the city's youth policy channels.

A network of schools, associations and the local area

With CreaSport, Trento ultimately aims to build a stable network between schools, sports associations, the third sector, and the local community , placing sport at the service of a broader educational project. Movement thus becomes the starting point for creating opportunities for encounters, supporting the well-being of adolescents, and offering spaces where differences can be recognized and valued.

Sport as an investment in the growth of young people

The underlying goal is to make sports a true investment in the personal and social growth of young people . Making physical and creative activities accessible free of charge, using schools beyond school hours, and directly involving students means trying to develop new tools to prevent hardship and promote participation. With a budget of €140 and a program set to run until November 2027, CreaSport aims to provide a structured intervention in the city's youth policies.
