Turin, Carabinieri anti-drug raid: seven arrests in 24 hours, 1.600 marijuana plants and 3 kilos of cocaine seized.

Major operation in the province against drug production and trafficking

Seven people arrested in just 24 hours and large quantities of narcotics seized. This is the result of the anti-drug trafficking operation conducted by the Carabinieri of the Turin Provincial Command , who have intensified checks throughout the province. The operations led to two important operations: the discovery of a large marijuana plantation in the municipality of Cumiana , under the jurisdiction of the Pinerolo Carabinieri Company, and the seizure of over 3 kilograms of cocaine in Bardonecchia , in the area of the Fréjus tunnel.

A plantation of 1.600 marijuana plants discovered in Cumiana.

The first operation stemmed from the investigative intuition of two Carabinieri from the Cumiana station who, off duty, were passing through a peripheral area of the municipality and noticed a strong odor suggestive of marijuana. The distinctive odor prompted the officers to initiate investigations and request support from the Operations Section of the Pinerolo Company. The investigations confirmed their suspicions: shortly thereafter, a raid was launched, identifying a vast cultivation area with four greenhouses dedicated to the production of the narcotic substance.

700 kilos of plants and 15 kilos of dried marijuana seized

Inside the facilities, the Carabinieri found 1.600 marijuana plants in the drying phase, weighing approximately 700 kilograms , as well as approximately 15 kilograms of dried marijuana inflorescences, divided into containers . During the search, tools used for growing and packaging the drug were also seized. A .357 Magnum rifle , stolen approximately ten years ago in the Canavese area, was also found within the area .
