Intervention in the lower Friuli area
A few evenings ago, Carabinieri from the Latisana Mobile Radio Unit responded to a home in the lower Friuli region, where a young woman had taken a kitchen knife and threatened to harm herself. The incident occurred on the evening of May 29, when a Mobile Radio patrol went to the home where the young woman was located.
The girl with the knife
According to the reconstruction, the girl, brandishing a kitchen knife, was threatening a family member and screaming that she wanted to use the weapon to harm herself. Upon arriving on the scene, the Carabinieri immediately attempted to calm her down, but to no avail. The officers, considering the obvious danger to the safety of the family member present in the home and, more importantly, to the young woman herself, intervened to restrain her.
Disarmed and transported to the emergency room
The use of the stun gun was a godsend, allowing the Carabinieri to disarm the girl and secure the situation, preventing worsening consequences. Immediately afterward, the 118 emergency medical personnel were called, who transported the young woman to the emergency room in Udine for observation.
